Similar to schemes adopted in the USA for sporting events, designated drivers, who are attending with a minimum of three paying tickets, will gain free entry to the event.

Will food and drink be available?

Bars will be open, with drinks available throughout the event, including during the matches. There will be a range of offers in place for the night. The arena itself will feature food and drink vendors.

Is the event accessible?

Yes. Accessibility is standard at the OVO Hydro, including step-free access, accessible seating, and facilities. Further information is available on the following link: www.ovohydro.com/visitor-information/accessibility. 

What are the age restrictions?

Families and people of all ages are welcome. The standing area inside the arena is 16+ only with Under 16s seated in the family section. All under 16s must be accompanied by an adult aged 18+.

What transport arrangements will be in place?

Due to the timings of the event, public transport is unlikely to be available. The venue provides detailed guidance on car parking, drop‑off/pick‑up, taxis, bikes and walking routes in the How to get Here section of the website.

What about parking at the SEC?

Designated drivers receive a complimentary ticket and access to VIP hospitality parking at the venue. In addition, the car parks at the venue will be operating a £6.00 fee for 24hrs.

What happens if matches are rescheduled or cancelled?

In the unlikely event that fixtures change, event plans will be reviewed and ticket holders will be contacted directly with updated information.

Will alcohol-free options be available?

Yes. A range of non-alcoholic drinks will be available throughout the event.

Can I wear football colours?

Only Scotland international football related clothing will be permitted.

When are the events taking place?

Doors open at the OVO Hydro for the game against Haiti on June 14 at 10pm, with the match kicking off at 2am UK time. Morocco (June 19) and Brazil (June 24) have earlier kick offs of 11pm in the UK. Doors open at 7.30pm at the Hydro for those matches.
 

How much are tickets?

There are a range of ticket offers in place for the matches and discount offers for families and large groups, such as football teams and other clubs. The OVO Hydro has also launched a ‘Designated Driver’ ticket offer where drivers go free when attending in groups of four, five, six or seven. A single adult ticket for the match starts at £29.50 and a child’s ticket £19.50. A family ticket (two adults and two children) is £89.00.
 

What entertainment will be included?

Before kick-off, the OVO Hydro will be a football fanzone, hosted by Des Clarke and Beth Wallace, and led by the Hoolie in the Hydro house band. Some of Scotland’s best-known bands and artists will play at the event, namely Dougie MacLean and Donnie Munro. Dougie will play his anthemic hit, Caledonia, while Runrig frontman Donnie will perform Loch Lomond. The fanzone will host games, family entertainment, photo moments and bierhall-style seating. There will also be a pre-match and half-time expert panel, featuring Charlie Mulgrew and Rob MacLean. The matches will be shown live on the OVO Hydro’s 20-metre screen.

Ahead of kick off the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity have exciting games and competitions to get involved with on the concourse.

Don’t forget to bring any loose change to drop in the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity buckets, or if you’re feeling ambitious, why not try and set the record for most keepie ups, for a recommended donation of £2 per go.

The Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity are also hosting a raffle across all three FIFA World Cup matches on at the OVO Hydro. This exclusive raffle will enter you into the draw to win an exclusive signed Scotland world cup jersey, and six tickets in one of the OVO Hydro’s Super Suites for the Two Doors Down performance on Sunday 27 September, Doors at 6.30pm. Donations for the raffle start at £10. Entry to the raffle is via QR code in venue or at the raffle station on the concourse.
