OVO Hydro unveils first performers in Our Moment Live line up

Scotland’s most rousing anthems will provide the soundtrack for the nation’s biggest football watch party this summer, as the OVO Hydro reveals the first performers for Our Moment Live.

This summer, as the national football team takes part in the tournament in North America, all three group games will be broadcast live at Scotland’s leading entertainment destination, as the OVO Hydro combine festival, concert and the Scotland match all into one unique event.

And now the first names have been revealed for the evening’s live entertainment.

Caledonia will ring out at all three matches as Dougie McLean joins the Hoolie in the Hydro house band for a special set which will include his most iconic song. Donnie Munro of Runrig will also take to the stage alongside the band for a set including a rousing rendition of Loch Lomond, with the Hoolie in the Hydro house band leading the celebrations throughout.

All three events will be hosted by one of Scotland’s favourite presenters, Des Clarke.

Shown live on the biggest screen in Scotland, the stage is already set for an unforgettable run of nights at the OVO Hydro.

The games will be shown in full on the Hydro’s 20metre big screen and, inside the venue in the run up to kick off, fans will be able to enjoy a range of unique fan experiences and interactive activities suitable for all ages including football games, family entertainment and photo moments. There will also be an expert panel of pundits who will summarise the match.

A specially curated food and drink offering, including guest beers, will also be available, while additional bierhall-style table seating inside the Hydro bowl will create a vibrant, pub style environment.

Dominic McKay, CEO of the SEC said: “Our Moment Live will transform the OVO Hydro into something truly memorable for Scotland fans. The bringing together of legendary artists like Dougie MacLean and Donnie Munro, the energy of the Hoolie in the Hydro house band, the quick wit of host Des Clarke and thousands of excited Scotland fans will create a watch party like no other. This event is a unique blend of music, festival and football – the perfect combination to cheer on our national team on the world stage.”

Musician and broadcaster Gary Innes, who is the driving force behind Scotland’s greatest ceilidh, Hoolie in the Hydro, said: “This is a really unique and special occasion and I’m honoured to bring the Hoolie House Band back into the arena once again. With the band and special musical guests like Dougie MacLean and Donnie Munro, we’ll build it through the night so that by the time kick-off comes around the atmosphere is going to be electric. It’s not just about watching the match, it’s the whole experience with the music, the atmosphere and that feeling you only really get when a nation comes together.”

Donnie Munro said: 'I am delighted to have been invited to join in what I am sure is going to be an amazing time in the company of Scotland’s ‘Tartan Army’ at The Hydro. I have been privileged in the past, to have performed at Scotland internationals at Hampden Stadium, both pre-match and at half time and the atmosphere was just outstanding. I have also had the privilege of singing with the Scotland Team Squad on their World Cup single, Say it with Pride for Italia 90, so this is a bit of a homecoming for me, as a Scotland fan.”

Additional acts and experiences for each individual match will be announced in the coming weeks — with more surprises still to come.
